Enough
Part reflection, part story, part prayer of praise, this is something different for inBox Whine.
This is unlike anything I have ever written, even when I was blogging or doing mini-blogs on Instagram. Part story, part meditation, part prayer of praise, I share this because I want to share hope. There was a time when I was hopeless and I questioned the goodness of God. I wanted to know other people were in the place I was, and I didn’t want to hear a story after it had a nice conclusion. I don’t ever want to whitewash or sugarcoat what it means to be faithful, what it costs us, and I don’t do that here. But this is something I can’t keep to myself.
September has become a month packed with rich spiritual reflections and experiences over the past few years which coalesced this month around a particular song I recently heard, “These Alone Are Enough” by Dan Schutte. The song is based on a prayer by St. Ignatius of Loyola. You can listen to the song on YouTube here.
This piece is a result of those reflections.
